I'm a semi-pro, I work frequently for the San Francisco Bay Guardian, and have been shooting bands for publications for years. The Selecter shots were film (I didn't bring the digital as it really struggles with crappy stage lights like Slims) - so shot with a Nikon F5, 50mm and 85mm prime lenses wide open on Fujipress Professional 800 pushed to 1600.
